Jackman Scholars-in-Residence

Students selected for Scholars-in-Residence (SiR) work as Research Assistants in small teams on projects led by professors. Students also share group activities including multidisciplinary workshops on research methodologies, standards, protocol, and professional communication; cultural events; and talks featuring professionals such as lawyers, policymakers, and documentary filmmakers that highlight research-intensive career trajectories.

Offered: Summer (4 weeks)

By: Jackman Humanities Institute. Projects are affiliated with one of the three U of T campuses: St. George Campus, Scarborough Campus, or Mississauga Campus.

Student Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Eligible undergraduates come from one of the following divisions: Faculty of Arts & Science, University of Toronto Mississauga, University of Toronto Scarborough, the Faculty of Music, the Faculty of Information, or the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design.
  2. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 who are currently in second year or higher are eligible to apply.

Availability: 2nd Year, 3rd Year, 4th Year

Research Type(s): Summer Research Programs

Location: Dependent on the nature of the faculty research project that the student is supporting.

Hours Involved: Determined in discussion with the faculty member whose research project the student is supporting.
